The Protest magazine has been a voice for Northwestern's progressive community since 1999. It is published twice a quarter - more frequently than any other magazine on campus - and includes articles, art and poetry on issues ranging from campus to culture to national politics to world affairs. The Protest is always looking for submissions as well as people to help edit, design and distribute the magazine.

Look for The Protest during the fifth and tenth week of each quarter. Submissions are typically due the second and seventh weeks each quarter.

We are always in need of articles, letters to the editor, and new staff members. Please e-mail submissions and questions to nuprotest[at]gmail.com.

The views expressed in The Protest do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the members of the staff, the writers of other articles, or Northwestern University. The Protest simply wishes to bring divergent viewpoints into public dialogue and is based on the freedom to express these opinions without censorship or fear of retribution.

The Protest is printed in Evanston, Illinois, USA.

The Protest denounces the existence of patents, copyrights and all forms of intellectual property monopoly. We reject the economic and political system that forces creators to restrict access to their work in order to make a living while allowing corporations to profit by denying society the benefits of art and innovation.
